On January 3rd 2025.We lost our baby Oscar, who would have been 16 on January 15th.We were recommended to Meadows via our vets.We looked at the web site & contacted the Owners.Well all I can say is, when you finally lose your own beloved pet & want them cremated, then Go to Meadows in Chichester. They went above & beyond caring for our Oscar, making that final goodbye less heartbreaking. They did every single thing we asked & moreIt was all about us & Oscar, not money like other places.Thank you James & ClaireXx

I cannot recommend the Meadows Pet Crematorium enough. They are absolutely amazing. I had grown incredibly close to a male turkey named Hercules at a farm I work at and I could not bare the thought of him being sent away, so decided to bring him home with me. He will be forever loved and missed. I cannot thank Claire enough for the attention to detail with his feather arrangement and beard bottle. It really brought closure at a time that was very difficult for me. He was also their first turkey which made him extra special. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for how you really cared for him even in those little hours he was there with you and to hear how you had spoken about him and thought about him after work hours. He really was a gorgeous boy. Thank you for everything ❤️

This is such an amazing place! After our hearts broke when we had to have our beloved Jazz put to sleep on the 8th December 2024, our vets recommended her cremation be done at their preferred company in Guildford but they said we would not be likely to get her back before Xmas. This was heartbreaking to us as we just wanted her home againAs an off chance the vets mentioned The Meadows to us.To say the service was amazing would be an understatement. From the moment we contacted them, they couldn’t have done more for us. Jazz was collected from the vets on the Monday afternoon, given a private cremation the next afternoon and by Wednesday 10th December she was back with us.Their venue is just beautiful and customer service was outstanding.I can’t recommend this place more.

"A Heartfelt Thank You to The Meadows Pet Crematorium""Following the tragic loss of our beloved pets, Zac and Roxy, in October and December, the team at the Meadows provided an invaluable service. During this extremely difficult time, James and his team were incredibly compassionate and understanding. They ensured our fur babies were brought to their care promptly and allowed us the time and space we needed to grieve. The farewell process was handled with the utmost dignity and respect, in a warm and comforting environment. We were deeply grateful for their kindness and support. The precious memories and tangible tokens, encapsulated in beautiful wooden and glass vessels, are a source of comfort during this time of loss.We highly recommend the Meadows Pet Crematorium to anyone facing the difficult task of saying goodbye to their cherished companions."

We lost our beautiful boy last week after 18 1/2 years while we were on holiday abroad. It was unfortunate to learn of him being put to sleep with the vet breaking the news whilst we were standing at the baggage belt at Heathrow. Not being there in his final moments left us not being able to say goodbye the way in which we wanted to.We asked our vets about cremation services, only for us to learn that vets use larger firms to do this. If we had taken the vets up on their offer it meant our boy being sent via courier 2 1/2 hours away to Cambridge. We certainly couldn’t have this for our boy and this is where James and Claire at The Meadows came in. We didn’t even know this place existed and we are so glad we had received several positive recommendations.I called James in tears and even though he was busy, he made time for me to pop down in an hour for me to view The Meadows.Instantly I knew this was the place for us and I came back the next day with my husband and our cat wrapped in a blanket which we had collected from the vets that morning. James, a total stranger welcomed us with a huge warming hug and really empathised. The room and set up there is beautiful and much thought has gone in, down to the last detail. We placed our boy in their basket, in a little room where you could say your goodbyes, which was so important to us as we never got that opportunity. A candle was lit and James had a little rose for him. You are a sweet caring man James. He was cremated the same day and we picked him up in an urn of our choice just a few days later where we were able to meet Claire. The Meadows will ask you to email over a picture of your pet, Claire showed us the memory wall of where all the pet angels are displayed there. A lovely gesture. We are also given a clipping of his fur and they placed this in a little glass jar.We wont hesitate to recommend The Meadows to anyone that wants something that little bit more special than what a standard vets can provide. We also got a card displaying our boys certificate of individual cremation.Thank youCarly & Dave x

We sadly lost our little 19 year old girl to cancer. She was never a pet, she was family, she was my sidekick, my little paintbrush. So to say we were heartbroken was an understatement. When I rang Meadows I was unable to speak at first, I just lost it, but Claire’s compassion helped me through it. Claire also greeted both the wife & me once we arrived helped us say goodbye to Apple in the best way possible. See you on the other side my little paintbrush.

Review for The Meadows: A Sanctuary of Compassion and CareIn the last 10 weeks, The Meadows has been a haven of comfort and support for our family as we faced the heartbreaking loss of two of our beloved fur babies. Our journey with them began with Willow, our family’s protector and the nurturing mother to all our other fur babies. I was overseas undergoing surgery when my husband informed me that Willow had become unwell. In those moments of uncertainty and pain, James was nothing short of incredible. His kindness and reassurance, even through messages and phone calls, made a world of difference. As soon as my plane landed, I was on the phone to confirm that Willow was holding on, and we would be helping her find peace the next day. When the time came, James and Claire were so accommodating, allowing us to bring Willow ourselves for her final journey—a ritual we hold dearly. Upon our arrival, James stayed outside with Willow, gently stroking and speaking to her while we went inside to make the necessary arrangements. The sight of James still talking to Willow, and later both James and Claire tenderly caring for her as we left, filled us with a profound sense of peace. We knew without a doubt that Willow was being loved and cared for in her final moments. Our second encounter with The Meadows came all too quickly after this, 9 weeks, as we faced the loss of Wilbur, our only boy and the baby of our family. The circumstances were complicated, but Claire and James handled everything with such empathy and understanding. Despite a mix-up with the date, they allowed us to change plans without any hesitation or fuss, showing an extraordinary level of flexibility and kindness.Wilbur was incredibly special to us, especially to my husband who had devoted himself to Wilbur’s care, sleeping in a separate room to be with him in case he needed help during the night. Losing Wilbur, after the trauma of losing Bonnie last year, then Willow a few weeks prior was soul crushing. Claire’s encouragement to take as much time as we needed with Wilbur, without any pressure, even as others waited, was a testament to the depth of their compassion. In our most vulnerable moment, when my husband had a panic attack and I couldn’t bear to leave Wilbur, Claire and James embraced us with open arms and open hearts. Their warmth and understanding in that moment will never be forgotten.Having gone through this difficult process five times now, with the last two babies being with The Meadows, I can confidently say that Claire and James are two of the most wonderful people we have ever met. Their care, compassion, and genuine love for the family's babies they serve make The Meadows a truly special place. There is no higher recommendation I could give than to say that when the time comes—hopefully in many, many years—there is no other place I would trust with our last baby’s final journey. The Meadows is more than a service; it is a sanctuary where love and dignity guide every moment of the farewell.

Upon arrival at The Meadows, we were greeted by Claire and welcomed in with open arms during a very emotional and upsetting time. The care we received was incredible and heartfelt, leaving us deeply moved. Claire took Mr. Percy from my arms, placed him in a cat basket encased in a blanket, and placed a flower on top of him, which brought us to tears. We sat down and spoke with Claire about Mr. Percy, discussing our wishes for his cremation and choosing his urn. Throughout the morning, we were very emotional. When we returned to collect our beloved ginger prince, we felt equally welcomed. Claire greeted us outside, seeing our tear-filled eyes, and put us at ease before we entered to collect him.In a separate room, as shown in the pictures, we saw our beloved Mr. Percy waiting to be collected. A small clipping of his fur was encased in a glass bottle tied neatly, a paw print stood to one side, and a candle twinkled next to his urn. We were completely overwhelmed and emotional but could not recommend the level of service higher. The love and pride they take in ensuring your pet has the most amazing final journey are genuinely felt.Thank you, Claire & James. All Our Love & More.Tim, Lee & Mr Percy 🧡
